How to make homemade guacamole easily and simply

Guacamole is one of the most famous sauces in the world. It is a dish mainly composed of avocado, the tropical fruit par excellence of La Huerta de Pancha. Guacamole has its origins in Mexico, as the avocado (the main ingredient of this sauce) is a food that comes from the central and southern part of this country. It was first produced before the 15th century and its fresh, unmistakable taste has conquered much of the world.

It is a sauce that can act as a host for a multitude of dishes, including nachos with guacamole. Its original recipe is prepared with mashed avocados, lime juice, tomato and chilli, but it is true that there are other ways of preparation.

At La Huerta de Pancha we have come up with a guacamole recipe that is easy to make, but no less appetising for that. Here are the steps to follow to make amazing homemade guacamole.

Guacamole ingredients

  • Half an onion
  • 2 small tomatoes
  • 4/6 ripe avocados
  • 4 limes for the juice
  • Two tablespoons coriander leaves
  • Serrano chili (Optional)
  • A pinch of salt and pepper

Preparation of homemade guacamole

  1. First, peel the half onion and wash the tomatoes. Next, peel the tomatoes into very fine, small pieces.
  2. Once the onion and tomatoes are chopped, take the ripe avocados and cut them in half. Separate the two parts and empty them with the help of a spoon.
  3. Add the avocado and lime juice to a bowl and start mashing the mixture with a pestle and mortar or fork.
  4. Add two tablespoons of chopped coriander leaf and mix with the tomato and onion.
  5. We reached the final step. If you like it spicy, chop the serrano chilli very finely and add it to the mixture along with the salt and pepper. If not, just add the salt and pepper and stir with a wooden spoon.

Once the process is complete, we obtain the final result, a delicious homemade guacamole made with products from La Huerta de Pacha and ideal as an aperitif at gatherings with family or friends.
